Cell phones for soldiers
The club is assisting Cell Phones for Soldiers in collecting used cell phones to support America's troops. Cell Phones for Soldiers was started by 2 Massachusetts teenagers to help buy calling cards to send to U.S soldiers serving in the Middle East. The program will accept any make or model cell phone. Donors are asked to drop off the cell phone with the attached battery. Other accessories will also be accepted. The cell phones are recycled for cash to purchase more calling cards for the troops. Currently there are drop off points at 30 Maple Drive, Cordswainer Gallery, Harvest Market and Normans Family Hair Care, Wal-Mart, Hannaford, Bedford Town Offices, and Sir Speedy. For more information visit http://www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com or contact Dave and Heather Michaels at 471-9130.
To date the BMC has collected over 1,000 cell phones for the CPFS program resulting in 60,0000 minutes of talk time for our soldiers who are away from home fighting for our freedom! The program has been expanded to now include printer cartridges, i-pods and other MP3 players and pagers as well.
Thank you again for your support of this great program that helps keep our country free!
